We saw this deer on our drive up to Hurricane Ridge. We almost didn't bother going all the way to the top due to the fog you can see in the background. On the Port Angeles side of the mountains, it was very thick.
But persistence pays! Look how clear it is up here!
We literally came out of the fog after one specific bend in the road. As you can see in this shot, it's thick enough to obscure the view toward the left, and clear as a bell toward the right. Cool!
Hurricane Ridge in Olympic National Park.
Met another deer (at least I *think* it was a different deer...) while on a short hike outside the Hurricane Ridge Visitor Center.
Mom was trying to hide from my camera, but I caught her! :-)
Doesn't it look like the hillside is dotted with snow?
On closer inspection, you can see it's actually small alpine flowers.
Here's a close-up of them.
We had a terrific day at Hurricane Ridge in Olympic National Park!
